The program is designed for persons with a BA level education and an interest in digital interactive media and its future applications, in particular, knowledge environments. i.e., technological and social environments for sharing information and constructing knowledge.
Applicants from a variety of backgrounds are encouraged to apply, with the purpose of creating a wide spectrum creative community. Particular orientations, such as digital divide, gender issues and needs of special groups with respect to interactive media are welcome.
The
program aims to equip students with a range of competences, applicable
not only in professions related directly with designing, planning,
implementing, distributing and management of digital interactive media,
but also in positions indirectly assuming visionary and critical
knowledge of the field. The IMKE graduates will master:
- a spectrum of critical knowledge and
- an individually tailored set of professional skills
Target careers
The target careers include:
- Policy leadership and management: Information society leader, Information manager, Web manager, PR manager, Intellectual property right consultant, OS resource manager
- Education: Teacher of media (teacher qualification assumed), Teacher of informatics (teacher qualification assumed), Educational technology expert, Learning software developer
- Social and health services: Accessibility consultant, Health services consultant
- Human issues: Consultant, new media development issues, Consultant in issues of free information flow
- Design: Interaction designer, including game interaction, Interface designer, including game interfaces, Network and systems architect, Metadata architect
- Technology: Interaction developer, Interface developer, including even alternative interfaces, e.g. sensors and locative devices
- Interactive communities: Moderator, Editor
- Entrepreneurship: Interactive media consultancy, open source tailoring, open source packaging etc.
